The European School Science Symposium 2007

This year's symposium, from 11 to 14 March 2007, was organized by the European School of Woluwé and held in the European Commission Breydel Building.

Pupils from years 4-7 secondary of all the European Schools had the opportunity to put forward their own science projects, with the best of them selected for oral presentation at the symposium.

The symposium is designed to strengthen interest in science, encourage co-operation and promote cross-national teamwork.

The awards ceremony on Wednesday 14 March was addressed by Janez Potočnik, European Commissioner for Science & Research, and there was a presentation by Climate Action Network Europe, on the work they are doing to prevent dangerous climate change and promote sustainable energy and environment policy in Europe.

All participants received a medal. The cup for the best oral presentation was won by the European School Luxembourg, with the European School Karlsruhe gaining third place.

Last year's Symposium was held at the European School Karlsruhe. A full report is still available here.
